Today's drawing marks my 125th sketch this year in my challenge for 2010 to draw every day NO matter what. NO matter where I am.
No cheating. No stockpiling of drawings. No excuses. Posting publicly every day except when I travel. The good, the bad and the ugly.
I am pleased to say there is now quite a large group watching it on Facebook and posting graciously with interesting feedback which has been stimulating.
When I first started this challenge I had no idea if I would get past week two. There have been moments when I really wanted to quit. But now I know, the repeated daily discipline is kind of an art miracle for me. But it has to be daily to count.
People have asked me would I do the challenge again in 2011. The answer is a definite no. It seems like a simple thing to draw every day and post it publicly but it is not. It has brought up some issues.
How are you all doing with your New Year resolutions?

Love your landscapes Johanna!
Really like this one! You know, you make this drawing challenge look easy... :-)
What's a New Year's Resolution? Oh, I know, "To stay sane!!" So far, so good!
Shelley
thanks Lynn for posting...
Landscapes are the thing I do least often but the challenge has made me do more of them. Very important to paint and DRAW everything. My mentor taught me that. At first I was resistant but now I see the real value. YOU take your landscape work into you portrait work and vice versa. Same with still life.
thanks Shelley...yeah, sane...I forgot that one. I think it was one of mine too.
Thanks Julie
I will take all the landscape compliments I can get.
