Drawing Board...365 Days of Drawing.

Back to the drawing board. Spent time on my drawing yesterday before I took this head to paint. Total 'in the zone time' of about three hours.
I am reminded how much I need my painting idols to refer back to when the going gets rough in my ART head and I need to regroup and FOCUS -the story I am trying to tell.

THIS TIME?
8 x 10, oil on canvas
$350.

I was thinking you were doing a lovely bride for a commission... not a painting for your challenge...

thank you all so much.

Jeremy, one of the most amazing things about this challenge is that it has prompted others to do the same thing and tell me about it. Rewarding.

Catherine, I base a lot of my daily/drawing paintings on real life stories from the past of women in the 1800's researching books and diaries. I know exactly what she is thinking in this painting because there was a specific story I had in mind to paint after reading about a young woman on her third marriage in order to survive the perils of the Old West.

Thanks again everyone...it is sometimes hard sharing the process so publicly but I think part of the yearly challenge.
